Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, set for release next week, will not be shown in Odeon cinemas.
The reason for this is because Disney want to release it on DVD just 12 weeks after it opens in cinemas, the usual time is 17 weeks.
Odeon says this undermines the investment cinemas have made in upgrading to digital projection systems allowing them to show 3D films.
It also fears other publication houses will follow and make the 12 week time frame a new standard, meaning cinemas will lose money.
Disney say this is a one off test for the time being.
Although Odeon won't be showing the film they are, strangely, still hosting the premiere at thier Oxford Street cinema!
